About the Plant
COMPANY PROFILE SV ChemBioTech Inc. is an innovative CRO/CMO company located in Edmonton, Canada and specializing in novel design and synthesis of organic molecules to support and accelerate early-stage drug discovery research of pharma and biotech companies. We adapt unique synthetic approaches and execute in robust ways for making small organic molecules and complex organic molecules. Thus, we make the drug discovery process efficient, cost-effective while maintaining the highest standards of quality. SV ChemBioTech was founded in 2009 in Edmonton, Canada by a team of two PhD scientists, Dr. Vidyasagar Anchoori and Dr. Sabitha Anchoori who are accomplished scientists with over 20 years of experience in organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, pharmaceutical process R&D, pilot studies, scale-up and transforming technologies into commercial manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and intermediates. BUSINESS MODEL, NICHE & SPECIALITY SKILLS • We design and develop novel synthetic routes for manufacturing pre-clinical drug compounds and intermediates in multi-grams quantities for customers globally to accelerate pre-clinical drug discovery research (in-vivo-invitro) in wide range of therapeutic areas. We make these products by ecofriendly, cost-effective, and scalable synthetic routes. • We conduct process R&D, technology transfer for manufacture of key starting materials, advanced intermediates in multiple kilos for APIs going to clinical studies and for Generic APIs. • We also design and develop novel synthetic routes for synthesizing deuterium labelled drug standards and metabolites for generic drug product development. • We also are experts conducting Process R&D, technology transfer for manufacturing of Semio-chemicals in multi-grams to multi-kilos used for crop protection applications. ACCOMPLISHMENTS (2010-2025) • For the year of incorporation till now, we synthesized several hundreds of key building blocks in categories: heterocycles, steroids, carbohydrates, nucleosides, nucleotides, peptides and chiral compounds tailored for drug discovery research of big pharma and biotech customers, Sanofi, Merck group, EMD Serono, Biogen, AstraZeneca, Albany Molecular Research, Sigma Aldrich, Thermofisher. • Custom synthesized and supplied several hundreds of small molecules (New Chemical Entities) such as heterocycles, steroids, carbohydrates, nucleotides, peptides, and chiral compounds etc. • Synthesized and supplied several hundreds of screening compounds and libraries for the last several years. • Developed novel synthetic routes and delivered several ‘New Chemical Entities’ involving complex chemistry to support discovery program (2013-2016) at SANOFI. • Developed a novel process and supplied a key intermediate (150 kg scale) to a California based bio-tech company to support their Phase-I clinical studies. • Developed a novel process and supplied an advanced GMP intermediate (20 kg scale) to a bio-tech company in the US to support their toxic studies enabling IND. • Developed a novel chiral synthesis method and produced a chiral intermediate on 28 kg scale to support a customer in Canada for their clinical API. • Developed a novel technology, and supplying “(3S,6RS)-3-Methyl-6-isopropenyl- 9-decen-ly1 acetate” a commercial pheromone to a Canadian customer on 150 kg scale every year for controlling insect-pest that attack citrus crops. • Developed a novel synthetic methodology and supplied 3 kg of an advanced intermediate of Cabergoline (having twelve synthetic steps) to a Customer in Brazil for 5 years. • Synthesized and supplied several key building blocks on 50 g scale to AMRI to support their customer Merck in their discovery project. • Developed novel synthetic routes and supplied few potential candidates to support Canadian customers in their discovery of anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory drugs. • Supplied several key building blocks to customers such as Merck Group, AstraZeneca, Biogen, Sandoz and to several biotech companies. • Synthesized and supplied several Deuterium Labelled Drug Standards, and intermediates to customers in India and US. • Developed a novel process for custom manufacturing of a key intermediate in multiple kilos for a US based bio-tech company to support their Phase-I clinical trials of a clinical API used in treating “Friedreich ataxia”, a rare, unmet neurological disease. • Developed a novel process for an advanced GMP intermediate to another for another based bio-tech company (Inception Inc) to support their toxic studies enabling IND. • Developed a novel chiral synthesis and produced a chiral intermediate on multiple kilo scale to support a customer in Canada in their drug discovery project. • Developed a novel process technology for CRS pheromone for a Canadian customer on few 150kg scale and supplied for crop protection applications. • Developed a novel manufacturing process by a muti-step route for an advanced intermediate for Cabergoline drug, a generic drug used to treat high prolactin levels, prolactinomas, Parkinson's disease and supplied to customer in Brazil to support DMF filing.
