The Pharmaron Cramlington site, located in Northumberland, UK, was acquired by Pharmaron in 2022, expanding the company's global API development and manufacturing capabilities.

The facility is approved by the FDA, EMA, MHRA, and PMDA and is equipped with reactors ranging from 50 L to 10,000 L. It supports batch sizes from a few grams to several hundred kilograms, enabling seamless progression from clinical development to commercial manufacturing.

The site includes two kilo labs, a pilot plant (250–1,000 L), and two commercial manufacturing buildings (3,000–10,000 L), with a total reactor capacity of 170,000 L.

Fully integrated into the Pharmaron global network, the Cramlington site is supported by a team of 250 process chemists in the UK. It also plays a central role in Pharmaron's hybrid manufacturing model, where advanced intermediates are produced in China and transferred to the UK for final API manufacturing. This integrated approach provides a resilient, flexible supply chain while maintaining cost efficiency.
